greatly improved
idk if there is anyway you could include the byline underneath the articles from the current day.
some of the spacing looks not quite even, squished or uneven.
and the line next to recent comments and letters seems to close.
also maybe if you could have it like most commented of the month/year or something more recent. it's a cool that we can seen the most ever too, but seeing things from 2005 when most of us weren't enrolled. It's nice to see this, but maybe if there is a way to switch back and forth or something. Idk
Also maybe you could include the comment part of the rest of the pages i.e. news arts sports
Also, where is Sport's point/counterpoint and the cartoon caption contest?

Thanks for the comments, Lee. :-)
Most commented: I initially did all time because that was the easiest to do. I will eventually switch it to most commented in past 30 days or something like that, but I need to look at how the database is set up and write some queries that will find the right entries... so it's more complicated.
I'll work on the spacing and little details when I get some time (i.e., when the rest of the site is using the newest templates!)
I'll add bylines for the current day's story. I think that's a good idea.

Also, I wrote a small script to display the appropriate number of recent comments to roughly equal the space taken up by the day's opinion pieces.

I like the new layout. One nice feature would be a link at the bottom of the current day's option/news articles that would display previous articles. Many times I like to read older articles and currently I have to go to the archives section to find them.
