This Saturday at Union South's Club 770, the Wisconsin Union
Directorate Music Committee is hosting the jubilant return of one of ska's most
loved bands, Mustard Plug. From
Touring in the
With a trombone, trumpet and keyboard player coming together
to form heavily accented offbeats, Mustard Plug has been able to retain its
resonant and bright third-wave ska feel throughout the years. After releasing
their sixth full-length album In Black
and White in mid-September, the band is kicking off its Midwest tour in
Accompanying Mustard Plug will be openers Plunket and Offend
Your Friends. Fond du Lac, Wis.-based Offend Your Friends performs in the ska
tradition with pop-infused saxophone lines, fast-paced lyrics and playful,
distorted guitar riffs. Other opener Plunket hails from the suburbs of
Mustard Plug's show is all ages and free, and bands will
begin at 9:30 p.m.
