Let’s face it: musicians-turned-actors are as common as a crowd at Library Mall and rarely are these larks any good at acting, but if you want to see someone who really shines, Madonna is your girl.
We all know that she has been in some good movies and that “Who’s That Girl” may not be one of them. But this is Madonna as an icon in the making. She is bold, funny and mischievous. She has a taste for excitement, plus she steals the heart of her stuffy escort. And that “cat!”
Madonna plays tough-girl Nikki Finn who has just been paroled for a murder that she didn’t commit. She is supposed to go back home but we know that no girl in a black tutu and corset is going to leave willingly. Plus, she has her good name to clear.
Even if you don’t like the movie, the platinum hair and ’80s garb should entertain you for the duration of the hour and a half flick. Now be grateful that your college years weren’t spent dressed like that.
