The Badger Herald

The Badger Herald is the University of Wisconsin-Madison's independent student newspaper as well as the largest student newspaper in Wisconsin and the largest independent student newspaper in the country.

The Badger Herald holds a long history of excellence and integrity in student journalism. During the Vietnam War, a small group of students set out to create an independent newspaper committed to publishing unbiased news and a wide spectrum of viewpoints. Today, The Badger Herald is UW-Madison's premier forum for the issues and ideas important to students. We are Wisconsin's largest and most award-winning student newspaper. On campus, students recognize The Badger Herald as their most complete source for sports, news, opinion and entertainment.

Advertising in The Badger Herald is the most cost effective way to reach UW-Madison's 41,588 students. Each issue of The Badger Herald has a circulation of 16,000 every weekday during the school year. We publish several special issues every year, including our alumni editions sent to thousands of UW-Madison alumni and our popular sublet guides.

Advertising is also available on our website, badgerherald.com. All Badger Herald publications are available for free in all UW buildings, at Madison Area Technical College and at several locales throughout downtown Madison.
